Two years of parking under a tree and I'm paying for it now
I never thought much about where I parked, my building has these shaded spots under some kind of ficus trees and I grabbed them because they kept the car cooler, seemed like a win. Two years later my bonnet and roof are covered in this sticky residue that attracts dust like a magnet, plus tiny sap spots that have basically fused with the clear coat, and no car wash has managed to remove them. I tried clay barring a small section myself and it helped a bit but took me an hour for one panel and my arm was dead, so doing the whole car is not happening. Someone in my building mentioned top Range Rover paint protection and detailing for Musaffah Shabiya owners, which got me thinking about getting it professionally decontaminated and then protected so this doesn't keep happening. My questions are whether tree sap actually damages paint permanently or if it just sits on top, and what kind of protection actually helps against sap, because I've heard wax does nothing and ceramic might help but won't stop it sticking in the first place. Also is it worth getting the trim and glass treated too or is that just extra?
